Orion Open Science project

ORION - Open Responsible research and Innovation to further Outstanding kNowledge is a 4-year project (runs from May 2017 to September 2021) that has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Science with and for Society (SWAFS) Work Programme. The main aim of the SWAFS Programme is to build effective cooperation between science and society. Open science is a core strategy of the European Commission that involves widening participation and collaboration as well as sharing research processes and outcomes to improve research and innovation.

Australian Research Data Commons Training Materials

The ARDC is a transformational initiative that enables Australian research community and industry access to nationally significant, leading edge data intensive eInfrastructure, platforms, skills and collections of high-quality data. The purpose of the ARDC is to provide Australian researchers with competitive advantage through data, providing access to leading edge eResearch collections, tools, infrastructure and services. Its mission is to accelerate research and innovation by driving excellence in the creation, analysis and retention of high-quality data assets.

DDI Training Material

The ORION Open Science Train-the-Trainer course is intended to guide you in how to facilitate and run training on Open Science. The course covers the theoretical underpinnings of adult education as well as practical methods and techniques to use in training events. There are a range of materials, media, and activities intended to strengthen your abilities as a training facilitator, both face-to-face and online.

This course is an introduction to Open Science principles in biomedicine, life sciences and other related research fields. It is intended to help scientists to share their research with the world more effectively.

The ARDC Training Materials Metadata Checklist aims to support learning designers, training materials creators, trainers and national training infrastructure providers to capture key information and apply appropriate mechanisms to enable sharing and reuse of their training materials.

Delivering Research Data Management Services

This is a five-week course for individuals that support researchers to manage and share their data, including librarians, IT and information specialists, data stewards, and research office staff. You’ll discover common research support services, how to create data management plans, and how to develop your own research data management roadmap. You will learn from experts in the field from the internationally-recognised Digital Curation Centre and Research Data Netherlands and build your confidence in supporting researchers and preserving data. This course has been certified by the CPD Certification Service as conforming to continuing professional development principles.
