Online dutch module on privacy research and GDPR is developed for researchers who are associated with a university or university of applied sciences. It consists of three sections: You will work through three research cases, each with a short quiz to test your current knowledge of the GDPR;You will get to know various aspects of the GDPR, such as the DPIA, ‘Privacy by Design’ and the six rules of thumb; Using three scenarios, you will learn which criteria determine an important part of the measures within a study.

The format has to be useful not only for researchers, data specialists, but also for funding applicants and funding bodies. An early start for certain activities within the data life cycle (like for instance metadata specification) will lower the costs for data management in the run of the life cycle. A good data management plan before gathering the research data also helps to prevent extra efforts and costs later on in the research cycle.

These guidelines for the archiving of academic research set out the preconditions for the archiving of data, materials and information that form the basis for publications – in other words, descriptions of data, materials and information that are needed in order to replicate research results, as well as their storage. These guidelines relate to the data, materials and information with respect to publications that appear in their definitive form as of 1 June 2018. The guidelines are based on the principle of retroactive accountability, i.e. reporting after a publication has appeared. The principle behind these guidelines is that each researcher is responsible for archiving data, materials and information, and the publications based on them, in a responsible and transparent way. In situations where this document does not provide clear-cut rules, researchers are expected to act in the spirit of these guidelines rather than observing them to the letter

It is an online escape room game that engages researchers with the principles of research data management (RDM). The game is a collaboration between Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (Lena Karvovskaya and Elisa Rodenburg), Leiden University Libraries (Joanne Yeomans), and Eindhoven University of Technology (Anne Aarts and Bart Aben).The room we created consists of six tasks related to the following data management topics: FAIR data, personal data, data archiving, data transfer, persistent identifiers, and metadata.

The document describes the design of a new, cross-domain infrastructure for improving the usability of digital heritage information beyond the boundaries of archives, libraries, museums and research institutes. The design is high-level because it describes the distributed network, not for instance ist organizational or technical considerations.

The Carpentries teaches in-person or online workshops around the world on the foundational skills to work effectively and reproducibly with data and code. Our certified volunteer Instructors are trained in pedagogy and focus on creating a motivating and engaging environment for learners. Our workshops are inclusive and hands-on, empowering students to learn new skills and build confidence in using them in their work.

National Coordination Point Research Data Management (LCRDM) is a national network of experts in the field of research data management (RDM). This website includes topics on RDM, data management support, digital competence centres, data infrastructure, guidelines, etc.

In this project we are developing a training programme in which employees of heritage institutions gain the knowledge they need to make digital heritage visible, usable and sustainable. They can then get started with the facilities that are available in the network. We are also creating a train-the-trainer programme to ensure that there are enough professionals who can transfer the knowledge. If we want to increase the active use of digital heritage collections, we must start by making those collections permanently accessible, preferably in open formats. The relevant knowledge and expertise that is available varies from institution to institution. That is why the Digital Heritage Network strives to ensure adequate support for heritage institutions with, as yet, insufficient expertise. Everyone should be able to receive tailor-made knowledge and advice for improving the accessibility of digital heritage.
